Beginning with the July, 2007 renewals, notification
regarding expiration of the HPNA membership will change to the following:

Reminder:
HPNF is recycling cell phones!
Collection target date is October 6, 2007, World Hospice
and Palliative Care Day. Many chapters are collecting phones – check with your chapter to see if yours is. If you are not able to donate to a chapter location, gather at least 4-6 unwanted phones (check with your colleagues and family) and call the Foundation office 412-787-9301 for shipping
instructions. Phones will be sent to Phoneraiser in Texas
for responsible recycling and an easy way to raise funds.
Chapter Grants
As you hold chapter meetings throughout this year, think
about what you wish your chapter could do with $500! Now is a good time to plan ahead for the 2008
Chapter Education Grants!
An exciting example is the combined special event planned by three Texas chapters who will be meeting October 6 at the Ft. Worth Botanical Garden to hear speakers present "Palliation Beyond the Pain: Navigating the Unchartable Waters of Suffering" and "A Conversation with
Tiffany: Perspectives on End-of-Life Suffering". Two of the chapters received 2007 Chapter
Grants for this event! June 1, 2008 is the deadline to submit your good ideas. See the website www.hpnf.org for details.
