HPNA Practice Drivers
HPNA Practice Drivers help keep you up-to-date on evidence-based practice. They are summaries of research articles on a variety of clinical topics. Each article is succinctly condensed to give you just the information you need to practice. After the article summaries is a list of Practice Points which recaps the “take to practice” points from the articles. A collection of three topics are selected each quarter and placed on a flash drive. Each topic is prepared as a PDF file which can be printed and shared with colleagues.

Hospice and Palliative Interactive Learning Resource: Generalist Nurse
This resource is an interactive activity for nurses desiring to increase their knowledge of hospice and palliative care.  Utilizing an outline framework, this tool is an resource of the essential information of hospice and palliative nursing.  The outline includes life-limiting conditions, pain and symptom management, care of patient and family, education and advocacy, interdisciplinary/collaborative practice, and professional issues.

Using the principles of BASICS (Background, Assessment, Symptom/Situation, Interpretation, Communication and Successful Outcome), this interactive multi-media CD ROM CD provides a framework for MD/RN ‘best practice’ end-of-life communication using the principles of the BASICS technique.

 
End-of-Life Care Computerized Education Multimedia CD
The information was created especially for Nursing Assistants caring for patients at the end of life.  This CD contains text, audio clips, video clips, a pop-up glossary for hyperlinked words in the modules, a separate glossary for the user to skim, quizzes to check for understanding of a subject, and printable pdf files to help improve skills.
   
Will You Help Me Die? CD

This recorded session explores ethical and legal frameworks, assisting listeners to better clarify personal values as actual cases are examined from both the adult and pediatric palliative care fields. The CD strives to provide the listener practical ways to assure compassionate responses to the request for hastened death.
