JHPN - Journal of Hospice and Palliative Nursing

The Journal of Hospice and Palliative Nursing, JHPN, is the official journal of the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association.  Beginning in 2012, JHPN increased from 6 to 8 issues per year.  All HPNA members* can access archived JHPN in the Members Only area of the HPNA site.


JHPN is designed as a forum for communication among nurses in the hospice and palliative care fields.  As a refereed journal, JHPN is a vehicle for the publication of high-quality, relevant, and timely articles on a variety of topics related to promoting excellence in end-of-life care, contemporary nursing practice, education, research, and administration.


JHPN has been selected for coverage in Thomson Reuters products and services. Beginning with V. 11 (1) 2009, JHPN will be indexed and abstracted in:

** As of December 15, 2012, Student and Nursing Assistant level members will no longer have access to the Journal of Hospice and Palliative Nursing (JHPN) as part of the membership benefit package. However, all HPNA membership levels will continue to enjoy full access to an online subscription to the Journal of Palliative Medicine (JPM).
